I know this is heresy for which torrents of pigs' blood shall be poured upon me, but the '02 adaptation (not remake) is the best.

 [pointing-up]  I've never seen the '02 adaptation, but I will say I've loved everything Mike Flanagan has been doing in recent years, so I'm definitely looking forward to his take on Carrie.

MB, the '02 adaptation is free on tubi.  Angela Bettis and Patricia Clarkson star as Carrie and Margaret.  It is the closest to the novel.
