I wonder what the plan was for Ned Calder?
Was he just a name to flesh out the story or was he going to be introduced to the story later if it remained a more traditional soap opera? 

An intense scene with David  . . .  But not forced or out of character.  So many shows even ones I enjoy have emotional conflict that exists only to serve the plot.

     I believe that the Collins family recap every plot line in this episode. While Roger recaps all David’s sins, David reveals he suspects Malloy wants to reveal Roger killed him. Roger dramatically slaps him across the face.
