Yes, it was indeed 35 years ago today that the cameras were shut down at TV-16 after capturing the Collins family for one last time. We saw the mystery of Brutus' curse being solved, Morgan's revenge on Bramwell & Catherine, and the unforgettable climax on the roof. And of course, that final scene as a new mystery began and Thayer David's voiceover assuring us
there really was no vampire at Collinwood
- that day. For those of you who watched that final show originally on 4/2/71, come share your memories. As for the rest of us, let's pause a moment to remember the end of a beautiful dream.....

I remember issuing a great big groan at the slapped-together explanation for the bite marks. I'm sure I was mad too, but Thayer's voiceover was the thing that startled me, so it's what I remember.

End?! It didn't end! Just look at us now. Writing fan fiction and poems, drawing pictures of Collinwood and it's denizen's, making music videos and tee-shirts, snapping up and viewing DVD's, discussing the show online and preparing for the 40th anniversary Festival in NYC! I don't think it will ever be truly over. ;)
