As much as I love Lysette Anthony's Angelique, Lara Parker wins hands down for me. It's her eyes that really do it, she has an AMAZING ability to really emote with them.

Her and Jonathan *both* did a lot of acting w/their eyes, quite amazing really.  Another actor who pulls this off very well is a B-movie actor named Richard Lynch.  I'm always amazed at actors who can show you how they feel or what they're thinking merely by doing something w/their eyes like that even before they open their mouths to speak their lines!   8)

Really like what Lysette Anthony did with the role.  That being said, nobody could ever embody Angelique better than the lovely Lara Parker.  Lysette's take on the character (granting that she didn't get the chance to expand on the role) was rather one-dimensional.  Lara on the other hand, developed the character over time, and was able to give her a degree of depth, fragility and a brittleness that Lysette didn't.  Add to that LP's porcelain doll prettiness, and you have the definitive (and more beautiful) Angelique.
