Title: MPI's DS DVD Releases
Post by: ClaudeNorth on April 16, 2002, 05:18:15 AM
On the DS Fest website, there is a mention of "deluxe DVD packages" of DS episodes debuting at the Fest in June.  Does anyone know if this is referring to a special package that will be available only at the Fest?  I planned to buy the DVDs through a retail store or internet site (to let MPI know that there's a market for these beyond fan gatherings), but if they're offering a special edition at the Fest, I'd rather wait and buy them there.

Thanks!

John

I assume it means the second box set will debut at the fest ahead of its street release -- as has been the case with many past MPI releases.

However, it definitely won't be a festival-only DVD set of any sort -- the economies of scale are too narrow, and the attendence level too low to make something like that viable.

I have not seen the series since 1997, which I believe is when it first went off the Sci-Fi channel. I am excited to see high quality, unedited versions of the shows. The only problem is having the time to watch them, which won't be possible for a while.
