Title: IE Design Flaw Lets Hacker Crack Google Desktop
Post by: Mysterious Benefactor on December 02, 2005, 08:43:59 PM
An Israeli hacker pinpoints a vulnerability in the cross-domain protections in Internet Explorer and publishes a proof-of-concept exploit to show how Google Desktop, even on a fully patched IE browser, can be cracked to hijack sensitive user data.
(Sure, much of that may sound like gibberish to some - but the important thing is that if you use the Google Desktop, a hacker could exploit it to hijack your sensitive data.)

MB...I perused the article.

I'm just not sure what Google Desktop is; is it the same as me going to Google to search for something?

Thanks for the info,

Patti

Since you're familiar with Google search, Patti, you can answer your own question by entering any of these search parameters:

Google Desktop
define: Google Desktop
"Google Desktop"
define: "Google Desktop"
