I watched it, largely because there was nothing else on at that time. It was apparently trying to evoke earlier sitcoms like Father Knows Best, Leave It To Beaver and The Donna Reed Show. Not that any of those were side splitting comedies but they were somewhat better acted. But somehow the producers were appalled that Robert Reed complained about the quality of the scripts?

I will admit to being somewhat intrigued by Sam the Butcher's plans to attend the social event of the season, The Meatcutters Ball.

Apparently they lived in their own fantasy world (kind of like a certain someone does today).

Yes, you should. The first one is the better of the two but both do an excellent job at poking fun at all things Brady. Plus, there's the presence of RuPaul as Mrs. Cummings, Jan's high school guidance counselor.  Played straight, as it were.
