I don't know why this was actually posted a day early. But a day early or not, it's always nice to see DS' anniversary commemorated:
Looking back: June 27 (https://www.chron.com/life/article/Today-in-History-13020686.php)
On this date:
1966: The Gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows” premiered on ABC-TV.

I know I've posted this before, probably several times. I remember the day, but it was a day later as our local ABC affiliate was one of those who "delayed certain broadcasting." It was a warm summer day, and I was watching TV on our old black-and-white Admiral set and just watched some game show. My mom was yelling at me to go out and play. It was at 11:00 a.m. That commercial came on with the spooky music. I was intrigued. I stayed inside, despite my mother's insistence. From that moment I was hooked. The rest, as they say, was history. Fortunately, by September, our ABC affiliate shifted it to its broadcast at an afternoon time so I could rush home from school. The next five years I wore out out carpeting on our living room floor as I raced home and slid across the floor to turn the TV set on.
