Title: Interesting DS Reference
Post by: Mysterious Benefactor on September 18, 2005, 05:33:29 PM
As part of Soap sounds (http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050918/LIFESTYLE01/509180301/1031), TheJournalNews.com's Linda Lombroso's profile of Barbara Jordan, a woman who runs a Web site that offers a collection of soap-music CDs aimed at fans who get hooked on a show's tunes, she writes:

As for the respect she allows the world of soap operas, Jordan smiles. Except for the time she watched "Dark Shadows" as a teenager, daytime soaps never held any interest. "I was one of the many elitist people who preferred classical music and Channel 13,'' she says. "I did not watch anything but educational television...

Hmmm - should one come away from that remark with the impression that, in Barbara Jordan's estimation, not only should DS be considered elitist entertainment, it's educational as well? If so, who knew DS is so classy?

DS - it's educational as well?

DS was very educational.  Through watching DS I learned how to brick people up in walls, how to use a voodoo doll, how to conduct an exorcism, how to summon a....er...  Well, you get the idea - very educational program.

Of course it is educational, the story lines were ripped from the pages of classics such as:
The Turn of the Screw, Jekyll & Hyde, Jane Eyre, The Crycible, Frankenstein and a dozen or so others
