This may be something to keep an eye on:

"* CBS All Access has released a trailer for its upcoming drama series Strange Angel, which follows brilliant rocket engineer Jack Parsons (Electric Dreams‘ Jack Reynor), who by night is a performer of sex magic rituals and a disciple to occultist Aleister Crowley. Rupert Friend (Homeland) co-stars in the show, premiering Thursday, June 14 on the streaming service."

I didn't include a link to the trailer for the show in the above posts because only subscribers to CBS All Access would have been able to access the only link I knew about. But thankfully there's also this:

Beyond the teaser for this article saying "This show looks very weird," near the end of it there's a bit of casting news (that I missed in the previous article because I simply posted the link to it for the trailer) that will definitely make me check it out:

I presume you're alluding in your usual sly, artful way to the presence of Bella Heathcote in this project. I just learned of its existence this evening and played one of the trailers. I don't know Bella's work well enough to have spotted her.

Jack Parsons made some very important contributions to the revival of occult, Pagan practice in the US, and his writing has been influential worldwide in this 21st century. And of course, he was a very significant pioneer in the history of rocket engineering and what eventually became NASA. I doubt the movie will be anything more than florid, sensationalist schlock. But maybe it will also be a bit of fun. I doubt I'll be seeing it, but perhaps if there is a DVD release and IF the local library acquires it...

Rather than a movie, it's a TV series. I believe they've made 6 eps, so hopefully the fact that it won't be limited to a movie's running time will give them time to do the story justice...

I'd actually watch at least the first episode if this were at all available to me, just out of curiosity. But all there are available on platforms I can access, so far as I am aware, are a couple of trailers and clips on Youtube.

I wouldn't have recognized her in that photo either - even though we did see her smoke in one of the deleted scenes from the Depp/DS film.
