I am completely unfamiliar with, and never heard of, any of the movies nominated for best picture and recognized by title maybe two or three nominated in other categories. Looks like I'm not much into current movies anymore. The last one I saw was Godzilla and that was several years ago. I refuse to pay almost nine bucks for a "discounted matinee." When I saw HoDS, my mom gave me a dollar. That paid for admission, popcorn, candy, a soda and I had to bring home the change It was a double-feature (the other being a western), previews, cartoons and a short nature documentary.

(You know what's interesting? Just for the fun of it I checked to see what a 1970 $1 is equivalent to in 2018 and it turns out to be $6.50, which is exactly what a local movie theater chain (Picture Show) charges for all showings before noon and every showing on Tuesday.)
