Thanks for this new bit of info on the message bar, MB (it had to be you, didn't it MB?)....I'm lucky I remember my name every morning....remembering how many messages I have is WAY more than I can handle.  Now I won't have to go looking to see if something's been added!  ;D

Yes, that's part of the new Advanced Instant Messaging update that I installed today. I'm glad you like it. I think it's going to make using the IM feature a lot easier than before.  :)
