I was scared too - by how bad it was.  ;)  To this day I still remember how Variety called it "a sloppy, cynical blend of second-hand plot elements" and another review, cleverly playing off the story, or what little there is of one, said that it was a human sacrifice just to sit through it.  :D

Not that long ago I read that someone is thinking of remaking it. For me that begs the question: WHY??!! One can only hope that it will be one of those remakes in name only with as completely different a script as possible...
