Title: OT-Classic Kids Snaks from the DS era
Post by: CyrusL on May 17, 2005, 08:58:42 PM
I made a reference to some great food snak products that we enjoyed back when DS ran originally, in one of my recent captions. I found a great web page that has images of the old packages of these foods, now lost forever in the grocery aisles of time. So if you want to remember what old Quisp boxes, Space Food Stix, Funny Face paks or even Shake-A-Puddin boxes looked like, go here for hours of fun

What a hoot that site is!!  Thank you, Michael!

I remember what my best friend and I had while we were watching DS after school: tea in china cups and Melody cookies.  ;)

Here's a story from my own past- and it's DS-related!  I was at a DS Festival some years ago and they were showing an original Summer 1970 episode with original commercials.  First I saw an old Cherrios ad with that jingle I loved so much as a kid "a pow-pow-powerful good-good feeling from Cheer-Cheer Cherrios".  And then something I hadn't thought about in years-Funny Face!  I  shouted out, "I remember that!"  Yes, I remember drinking gallons of that stuff before my mom switched to Kool-Aid

That's such a cool site!!  Wish I had been able to try some of that stuff.  My husband says he used to love Koogle!

What a great site!  I used to know a lady for whom Dark Shadows always meant Whip-n-Chill--she and her sister would make it up before the show was on, put the glasses in the fridge, and then enjoy it when the show was done.

Great site! In the same vein, these were among my favorite goodies from the period:
