If you choose to, you can now go into your profile, click on "Look and Layout Preferences" under the "Modify Profile" heading, and once that page comes up, you can place a checkmark in the box opposite "Disable your ability to see and take part in the Karma feature." To save this option, be sure to scroll down and click the "Change profile" button. ;)

Thank you!!

Just one question, oh Mysterious One: will those of us who choose this option also be spared the annoyance of floating bunnies, pumpkins, turkeys and other assorted holiday related symbols? Or would that just ruin all the fun? ::)

Or would that just ruin all the fun?
That's a rhetorical question, right? ;)

So now, assuming Go-Thick ;) disabled his karma...he can't see his, nor can he click on someone else's?
But we can still curse him (cause I just did)...so if he continues to get cursed by all of us who love him, and say in a month, he re-enables this feature, he'll see the change?

Actually, the feature works very similarly to the don't show avatars and don't show signatures options. All members' Karma totals and the links to use Karma do not show up in posts and PMs. However, similarly to how all members' avatars and sigs continue to show up if/when a member checks out his/her or another member's summary page in their profile, any member who has disabled their ability to see/use Karma in posts/PMs continues to see his/her own Karma in his/her own summary page (which is one reason why he/she is not deprived of still taking part in the exciting thrills of clicking on the various floaties that might show up ;)).

How about an option where I can get rid of the woeful amount of Cure points I received thanks (mostly) to the floating Roger Davis jester head of Doom?! ;)
-
Sorry, PennyDreadful, no. Your best bet there is to hope that the next floaty bestows you with more Curses than Cures. ;) (Though, as far as things stand at the moment, we probably won't be seeing another floaty for quite a while. :'() But in the meantime, I just cursed you. :)

Me too honey :)

Thanks MB and Patti! :)

Speaking of the "the Karma feature" since this is a Dark Shadows
would Curse be a positive thing?
The Dark Shadows story wouldn't be cool without curses.
Or is it more intuitive? Or more random?

Woops. I think I found the answer to my question in another post.

No problem. ;)

I fear I have found myself in a distended section of this board. As for the curses thing, I'm going to be on the receiving end of that sort of thing for however long I'm around, so why dwell on such things?

Since PennyDreadful explained it so well...
A curse is "good", but a "cure" isn't so good (since most of us like our characters cursed in the DS world). It's just a fun thing. It doesn't really do anything other than giving you something to do while reading.
