The #1 Vampire on DS is not up for consideration here. From the following selection pick a favorite and do tell us why: (may be a possible spoiler.....)
Angelique
Tom Jennings
Roxanne Drew
Dirk Wilkins
Meagan Todd
(Julia99, I have already tallied your vote for TJ.)

Boy this is a tough pick. I'm liable to change my mind at any given moment. For now I'll go with Tom Jennings. He was just so creepy as a vamp - anyone remember his tongue antics?
-
Angelique - she is the only one I can remember right now as a vampire other then Barnabas.
As the series goes on, I may change my mind. It's been 30 years since I've seen the whole series through from start to finish.

Oh your soo cheeky aren't you [rollr].. .

I have to vote for Tom Jennings also. Those scenes between Tom and Julia have stuck with me for over thirty years and that two-week plotline is still one of my favorites. Tom was one hot vamp. [grinb]

Tom Jennings is mentioned so much here on the dsboards......
Does anyone have any information on him, pictures i.e
Is there a ds webpage that would have information on him and pictures?
I probably would remember him if I had something like a pic to see or the likes. I was just a kid in 1966-1971. :D

The DS characters Tim Shaw, Chris Collins, Tom and Chris Jennings were portrayed by Don Briscoe. It was written in the DS Companion that he retired from acting and resides in Tennessee. There are plenty of pictures of him in DS Almanacs and on DS websites. I am sure MB has a nice one!

As much as I enjoyed seeing Angelique getting paid back for what she did to Barnabas, In my opinion, she was much better at being a witch than a vampire. I'll have to cast my vote for Tom Jennings. He was one super scary vampire! At least Barnabas had some self control when it came to choosing his victims, with Tom, it didn't matter who you were, if you happen to be in his path, you got it!! :o His look as a vampire was very scary & terrified me! It's Tom Jennings for me!

Oh Vam don't tease me like that!(there is a great shirtless one!)
Tom Jennings will always be # 1 with me :-*

I vote for Angelique. After having cursed Barnabas, it was an interesting turn of events to see her suffer the same fate. It was also interesting to see her not be the one in control, instead having to follow Nicholas' orders. There were some good scenes between Lara Parker and Humbert Allen Astredo during this storyline.

For best male vampire, Tom Jennings gets my vote. You know I loved that tongue. I was interested to see an interview Jonathan Frid did for a Baltimore paper (yes, in your home town, Byron!) where he complained about the "almost pornographic" tongue-rolling by a certain actor (Mr. Frid was too gracious to name dear Don). I personally felt the tongue action emphasized Tom's animality.
This brings up just how different various vampires have been on DS. Some retained more of their personality than did others.
For best FEMALE vampire, I vote for Angelique. I just loved watching her work her way through the male cast members. I guess Lara Parker still recalls that period fondly as well, since she has shown some of those episodes to classrooms when she's worked as a substitute teacher. (Incidentally, I think the Cassandra period rates as her least favorite--she bluntly told a friend of mine that she doesn't even remember playing Cassandra! How on Earth could she have forgotten those wigs, and those clothes! Especially the CLASSIC purple butterfly robe! What a thing to be wearing while being exorcised!)
I think KLS and Terry Crawford deserve special awards for super-duper honorary vamps. Both only appeared as members of the Undead in dreams or visions, but both ladies did a wonderful job chewing up the scenery with their "fang cameos"! Another one who got a lot of bang for fang (oooh you saw that one coming didn't you) was dear Marsha Mason as Audrey the Leviathan Vampire Chick.
That's enough natter for one day.

Angelique gets my vote here. Since she as a witch brought about the vampire curse, how appropriate that she also should become one!

Thanks to her biting Barnabas Collins, Harry Johnson stumbles upon him lying in the woods in pretty bad shape, and brings him back to Collinwood, the one right thing he did according to Mrs. Johnson.
