Title: Barnabas and Quentin Dolls
Post by: TERRY308 on April 09, 2005, 07:53:30 PM
I just found Monstersinmotion.com

That has the Barnabas and Quentin 12 inch figures.  I just ordered both of them.

Barnabas:  http://www.monstersinmotion.com/catalog/product_info.php/manufacturers_id%20/87/products_id/6194

Quentin:  http://www.monstersinmotion.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/6196?osCsid=9d2ec66e927f901cdc074b652239731d

These are the Majestic Studios figures.  "After Dracula, there is no empire deserving of being immortalised in mine all plastic . more than Barnabus Collins, but 175-year-old bloodsucker, who thirsted for humanity love more than blood on TVs, Dark Shadows."  Is that supposed to make sense?

Are they really going to be available the Friday of the Fest?

I was thinking of preordering them too, but I haven't yet. I usually don't preorder, and instead just pick them up when they're released.

I can't wait to get them. I'm impressed with how good they look.  I'm a big collector of 12" figures, so to have figures of my favorite television show is a dream. :) I hope they continue the line though, and make more characters.

I can't wait to get these!  I'm considering pre-ordering them, but I haven't decided yet.  They might be slightly less money when released through other retailers.

Did you notice there's a Barnabas bust as well?

I'm not sure if this is the Majestic one though.

They also have a replica of the DS Aurora werewolf model kit from the 60s!  Neat stuff.

But wait, theres more.

Set in the small Maine, the fishing village of Collinsport,

lol  I am far from being a punctuation expert, or how to put a sentence or paragraph together, but that plain is bad, but funny...If they are trying to sell a doll of a famous person, you would think they could get the name spelled right.....Sounds like Adam saying his first word  Barn a BUS.    ;D

Of course, I am waiting for the Julia doll, with interchangeable heads that represent her various hairdos, reproductions of her finest outfits, and such accessories as her purse, cigarette holder, and a hypodermic needle.  (Magda head and outfit sold separately.)

"They" can't even spell "Barnabas" right.  Barnabus?  Whaaa???  You can't be that big a fan of a character and not be able to spell his name correctly, can you?   ::)

You are right; Barnabus Collins was play by Johnathan Fried who work became mortal because of this role.

Johnathan Fried's work never fails to depreciate.

Yeah, the terrible spelling errors are sorta scaring me from pre-ordering off that site.  It doesn't seem like they put much effort into the descriptions.  Plus, bigger online toy/figure retailers like 'Entertainment Earth' don't even have the DS figures for pre-order yet so how do these 'Monsters in Motion' guys already have them for pre-order?  Also, the pics of the toys look like Con pics and not official Majestic Studios images.  Hmmm.  I think I'm going to wait a bit on this one.

I'll wait till someone comes out with a Barnabas doll with a pull string.  "WILLY!!!!!!"  "YOU BETRAYED ME!!!" etc.

Hee hee, onyx treasure!  Hmm, I think a Barnabas doll should ask over and over, "Did I startle you?"

Also in his voice-- "I didn't say she was dead.  I said I killed her."

"Willie clings to life with a leech-like persistence."

What else would a Barnabas doll say?

What else would a Barnabas doll say?

"You MUST!"

"I MUST!"

"Would you care for a glass of Amontillado...?"

"Splendid."

"Indeed."

"Julia, stop being peevish..."

"Never without you..."

"Julia, it's time for bed...now come..." {okay, I just made that one up - LOL}   :P

Hey, any Barnabas doll must be able to say, "I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about."   [blackbat]

[lghy]  I've always loved those lines. Only on a show like DS could that make any sort of sense.  [wink2]
