Watching the dippy Josette try and lie her way through a conversation with Natalie, it occurs to me how many of the characters were atrocious liars--that is, not good at lying.
Soooo . . . who would you rate among the worst liars in Collinsport (any time period)?

Judith with the trembling lip would have to rank up there.

Again, I nominate Cassandra "I'm a Genius and My Plans Never Backfire" Collins.
"My name is CASSANDRA, Barnabas!"
"You're insane!"
"Of course this is my real hair!"
You get the picture.

Little David was a poor liar - but luckily he was blessed with adult supervisors who were easily duped.
-
Doesn't Sam Evans (early episodes) have a reputation for being one? He did not come clean with his daughter until it was absolutely necessary.

Please....Willie Loomis, hands down. Every sentence out of his mouth was a lie, and a BAD lie at that, as a result of which, no one believed him...."I didn't do nothin'"...."Barnabas ain't here"....."There ain't nothin' in the basement"..."I won't tell anybody"....! :-X
So, if by "worst" liar you mean the least successful, definitely Willie.
If, on the other hand you mean the one who told the most frequent and successful lies.....I would guess Angelique, but I defer to the scholars. ;)

Worst liar--Willie, Willie, Willie!! Well, Victoria is pretty bad too, the 1 time she tried to lie .. .

I would have to say Barnabas on why he was always absent during the daytime & why he was never able to "attend" family funerals & such. After awhile, those "Had to attend business" excuses kind of got played out. ::)

;DNathan Forbes I loved it when he lied to Angelique and she said something like So you are going to a picnic by yourself in the middle of winter. He said he had to burn a shirt also. L ater in the same episode he said he broke into the new house to look at the architecture and Joshua said he should have asked him and Nathan said he tried but could'nt find him Paul ;D

I cast my vote for TRASK [liteye] ... his whole existence was a big fat lie! The original fraud, charlatan, foul pretender - not to mention he was also about as transparent as glass (as well as just plain obnoxious).
-
All very good selections. I would like to add Hallie Stokes' name to the list...a bad liar as well as all around annoying little twit (IMO of course...don't mean to offend).

I'd have to say Gregory Trask pretending he didn't have lust in his heart for all those pretty women he made
pray with him the most annoying Amanda Harris!

Barnabas was the best liar, at least when he first came to Collinsport. He had an answer for everything, and a pretty convincing one, offered in that urbane, eloquent manner of his. I loved it.
Vicki was the worst liar; she simply couldn't do it.
But for the Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire Award, I go with Roger, especially in his early days. Talk about a lie every other word! Whew! Rog wins, hands down.
SPOILER AHEAD!

Then there was 1840 Gabriel, whose whole life was a lie as he wheeled himself around for years in a wheelchair when he could actually walk.
And Julia, lying for all that time about writing a book and being an historian when she was really a doctor treating a vampire--a BIG lie

Interesting opinions, thanks everyone :)
I was actually thinking worst=not convincing liars and for me it's a tie between Vicki and Barnabas(and Josette running a close second).
