are we sharing our opinions/are they wanted on the upgrade re: when you put your mouse over each new board and/or topic? ???

I'm not sure, but I think Patti must be referring to the way the whole block "lights up" when the cursor is there. Aside from being a bit annoying, there was a topic yesterday with a long title. The "new" was at the end of the title, way to the right side of the block. But, every time I tried to put the cursor there, the block lit up (apparently that made the text larger) and the "new" went to the left side of the next line! I'd try to go there and it would jump back to the original position. It was extremely difficult to manage to click it.

The mouseover backgrounds are still evolving. Originally I was going for a trippy '60s feel. But today I created a few classic style backgrounds that I like better, so now they're in place. (Who knows what tomorrow may bring? [wink2]) And an added benefit of today's backgrounds is that they don't require the font-weight to change to bold.
Look for mouseover backgrounds to be added to the "show new posts since last visit", "show new replies to your posts", "profile" and "search" (which has some issues with the new version of quote that need to be addressed) features shortly. :)

I believe all the mouseover backgrounds that I'd like to add are now in place. But with me you never know. [wink2]

what's the difference?
There isn't one. Like the url tags... [url]text for the user to click on[/url]
the email tags...[email]text for the user to click on[/email]
aren't necessary if the hyperlink displays correctly without them.
BTW, the email addy in your profile is hidden from guests, including any bot that might get past the mods, but not when it's typed into a message. Since there's no reason for yours to be seen by someone reading this topic, I'm altering the addresses in your post.
