So far I've recorded every episode from #341 to #418, and then #420. I'm missing #419 so far, tho I have the end credits for it. I plan on taping it for a long time to come.

I always tape it because I usually don't have the time to watch it when it airs.  However, I don't save 'em - after I watch 'em, I reset the VCR and  tape the next batch.

Geez! You missed the classic Vicki episodes when she still had the gothic-novel heroine thing going!

Anyway...

Yeah, I record, in fact, I had nailed 300+ episodes in a row (big accomplishment I know 8)) until someone decided to use my designated Dark Shadows tape to record saturday morning cartoons.  Oh well.

I know. I'm still upset about that.  :'( Oh well. Only a year..or two. If Sci Fi is still showing it that is. I want to see those episodes soo badly tho. Sorry to hear about your episodes. The same has happened with me with such shows such as "The Facts of Life"  ;)

Yes, I do record them everyday. I enjoy watching them at night time much better. Like Gerad, though, I also reset the VCR and tape over them, but that's ok because I have the Mpi sets as well. ;)

The 8 or 10 tapes I had recorded of DS in the mid 1990's are now practically unwatchable. I just visited my mother for the first time since 1998 last Christmas, and each and every one of those tapes were useless at this point. So a word of advice...do not record at SLP. Spend the extra couple of books and do SP mode. Keep them in decent case, in proper a temperature, and if you make a move, be sure to handle them carefully...they are fragile, after all. Storage and handling are the key thigns that will determine the life of them, aside from the original medium (e.g., sp or slp, new tape or old tape [how old?], etc.).

If you really wanna have something that will last, I would go for TiVo. It will automatically digitally record it on a harddrive on the TiVo. And the quality is soo much better than vhs. You can put them on vcd or DVD, but that is a lot of work and they really try to make it so you can't, so you'd have to do a ton of research to do so. But I guess if someone wanted them that badly, they'd go in for the mpi series or wait for the dvd's to be released.

Anyway. Yeah. Take care of the tapes you record your shows on or they are useless

Same here altho I am collecting the MPI tapes and only buy when I get sent a notice to use coupon # whatever to get a discount. The last time I ordered $100 worth of DS tapes, I saved $30 on  the order.

I started recording the last time the Adam storyline was on.  I've got most of them, but have probably missed 8-10 over the course of that time.  I've got that timer program on my VCR down.  I could practically do it in my sleep.

I've got tapes stored in boxes all over the house.  I really need to find a central location for them all!  :P
