Title: OT - Attention Festgoers: Playing at the Pantages Theatre
Post by: Midnite on February 06, 2005, 08:58:05 PM
The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood announced its summer schedule in today's L.A. Times:

Playing June 17 to July 31, 2005 -- WICKED

More info here (http://www.broadwayla.org/pantages/show.asp?ID=37).  FYI, group sales are 15 or more.

The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel (the site of the 2005 Fest) is a block north of Hollywood Blvd. on Highland.  The Pantages Theatre is on Hollywood Blvd. near Vine.  Are you still with me?  The distance from Highland to Vine on Hollywood Blvd. is around 10 short blocks (going East).  Or, it's approximately 2/3 of a mile total from the hotel to the theatre.

Even if you're unsure that WICKED is your cup of tea, the Pantage's interior makes it the grandest of all the old Hollywood movie palaces, and the theatre is a stone's throw from Joan Bennett's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Thanks for the heads up, Bette!  :D

You're welcome, Midnite.  :D  And to put the distance another way--it is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the theatre, or one subway stop. Metrorail stops right by the Hollywoood Renaissance Hotel and right across the street from the Pantages.

There will be plenty of parking at the hotel.  Most everything you would want to go out and see is within walking distance of the hotel or as Bette says one red-line subway stop.  They have public parking everywhere for a fee.  We have a hard time in these parts, parting with our cars...  lol [iroc]

The Pantages is really close to the hotel.  I doubt you will need the car to drive there.

If you plan on ditching the bus to Greystone and taking the car instead, there is public parking on the park's site.  There is no charge for this.
