Robservations #1105
And if you'd care to look back, the first WP discussion topic for this ep:Re: Discuss - Ep #1105

Mrs J's legs stick out from behind the wing chair in Vickie's room. Even if you didn't know Clairice was gone, you would know that these were some dummy legs. Maggie went through the secret panel. Why this was never thought of is beyond reason , but I'm not sure Maggie even knew about it, so how did she find out? Did the Vampire know?
Julia is grilling Carolyn about the teens.
Barnabas is screaming, Willie!" Up the stairs of the Old House. Makes it seem like old times.
Carolyn gives Willie a riddle to find Maggie and he does going through a cemetery with headstones blowing in the wind. The next scene is a transfusion. Things are moving faster.

One of the best episodes in a long time. Virtually everything clicks, maybe because the episode focuses on core characters and keeps the kids and the spooks off screen.
The possession seems to affect Carolyn much differently than it does the children. She's haughty with Julia, condescending with Willie and dismissive about Maggie and Barnabas. I wonder if the business with the cookie was an acting choice that Nancy Barrett made. Carolyn has survived so many things virtually unscathed but she seems headed towards the madwoman that we saw in 1995.
Barnabas is short with Willie and pompous with Julia. Both are in character. Both are annoying.
Maggie is pretty close to dying here, so it's up to Willie and Julia to track down the mystery vampire. They are remarkably successful. Julia is shocked when she recognizes who is in the casket. One of the best Friday cliffhangers of the series! [candle_in_skull] [candle_in_skull] [candle_in_skull]

I guess that means "we" don't see who is in the coffin?
-
Not until the next episode.

Yes, I agree it is one of the best cliffhangers ever on the show. We're left in huge suspense! (I remember practically counting the hours until Monday's show!! [nodassent]) And even though clues were definitely given along the way, I doubt many people figured out who the vampire is before the actual shocking reveal. [ghost_nowink]

And the reveal has a lot of repercussions for quite a few characters! [skull_winks] [skull_winks] [skull_winks]
