I'm FINALLY not a newbie!!!!!
(Of course, I don't know how to manipulate the 'emoticons' or 'avitars', but who cares!!)

I haven't figured out the cool things other people do with them either! I think they like it being a secret.... :-/

I'm glad you're not a junior member anymore--I'm still working up to it

I found a simple solution on how to use the emoticons:
whenever I saw a post with lots of emoticons, I went to QUOTE as if I was going to respond and I saw how others had typed them in.

For example, I had been using this sign {} which continually showed nothing when I previewed my post.
What I saw was that you used  these signs [ ] instead of { }.  So that {shckd} would never appear but [shckd] would.

The rest of the emoticons are in the Posting section of "Help", and the Testing board is available to practice to your (and everyone else's) heart's content.  And please don't be afraid to ask questions there because you may be helping someone else to use the features too.  Have fun!

And I was right about liking to keep secrets! [thumb] I am SO not an IT type, but I can well understand the emotions behind it. Actually, I HAD checked the testing board, but not very thoroughly. [bang] [ghost]
