Nice to see the event getting press...
-
Definitely! It's been awhile since a DS event had any real advance publicity.
-
the DS festival and fan events definitely seem to exists in some sort of isolation bubble. one is "in the know" or not.
when i attended my first fest in 2003 i didn't even have a computer yet. i honestly don't remember how i even found out about it much less register for it. did they used to advertise on the old VHS extras? the PomPress books? i heard about it somewhere. [hall_huh]
-
There was a Fest blurb on all the VHS tapes. And I'm pretty sure the PomPress books shipped with a Fest flyer or a simple letter about them.
-
thanks.
i vaguely recall KLS cooing about something at the end of each tape. maybe it was the fest.
-
There's a bunch of those commercials on YouTube. AYOR.
-
Plus who can forget the Sci-Fi Channel's promos for the Fests and other things...
-
apparently Mitch Ryan has been added to the roster. he'd be interesting to hear from. he's one of the few i've never met.
-
he'd be interesting to hear from.
Definitely. Let's hope he shows up - and hangs around long enough to speak...
-
He didn't hang around very long at the one festival that he actually showed up for.
-
KLS and Lara did promos for the Festivals that were aired on the Sci Fi channel during the episodes. I didn't watch very often but when I did see the broadcasts, I remember those commercials coming up a few times.

i think Ryan was originally part of this year's East Coast festival lineup but joined Donna Mckechnie and Kathy Cody on the "scheduling conflicts" train of last minute bailouts. [hall_rolleyes]
