Title: Thayer David in "The Rockford Files"

This was on the same tape as the Galactica 1980...

The great Thayer David appeared in The Rockford Files episode "Say Goodbye to Jennifer".  It aired in 1975.  He played a godfather named Carl Birrell and managed to intimidate the heck out of James Garner's character in their one meeting.
