Title: You folks have a nice board here
Post by: Elmont on January 14, 2005, 03:08:39 AM
Hello gang, my name is Elmont and I just found your board.  I was a die hard fan of Dark Shadows back in the day and cant believe how many fans are still out there today. I've been watching the show with my son for the last few years on home vidio. It's amazing but he loves the show as much as I did almost forty years ago. It's nice to know that you are all out there and I look foward to posting with you.  Have a wonderful day all, Elmont...

Welcome! So, you got your son into DS? My Mom did the same for me when I was 15! It's been 11 years since I saw my first DS episode and as you can see I'm still hooked. I even met my husband and had my beautiful daughter b/c of this obsession. :) Needless to say, my hubby adores DS twice as much as I do. He may be joining us on this board pretty soon! ~DJ

Welcome Elmont.  This is truly one of the best boards on the Net - friendly people with tons of knowledge about DS not to mention some very funny folks with wicked senses of humor!  You will also get first hand information concerning anything that's going on in DS fandom including the festivals.

From one long time DS fan to another, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

Welcome to the board!  That's great that your son likes it too.  I was always into horror movies/shows/books, stuff like Anne Rice, Buffy, Angel...etc.  By chance I found Dark Shadows at a local video store, a whole shelf filled with them!  So I started watching it from there.  Then my mom saw that I'd taken an interest in it, and it turns out she was a big fan as well!  So we both watched the show when it was still on tv.  One of the few things we have a common interest in.  :P  So yes, this show is great for young and old.  Share it!
Ciao
~Mel

I think my mom and I have a lot in common. Dark Shadows was just the icing on the cake. ;) I'm still surprised to see to this day just how many ppl from my generation have taken interest in the show, as well. ~DJ

Hi, Elmont!  Everyone here is just wonderful.  Not only is this the best DS board, it's the best of any board.

Not only is this the best DS board, it's the best of any board.

For those who have been part of this board for a number of years, it's like a "home away from home."

I've been away from it for three weeks (two weeks on vacation without readily available Internet access), and I'm afraid I'm going to go a little overboard in posting now that I have a chance.

Can't believe how much I've learned from participating in this forum, not only about DS, but about history, costumes, music, the television industry, and more!

And of course none of this would be possible without the dedication and hard work of the forum managers, especially MysteriousBenefactor and Midnight!

Isn't this wonderful January weather just pleasant, Vlad?  Geez, I've never felt this frigid.  I even had to wear my one heavy parka to work.  Oh, please, let this end!

I couldn't agree more!
I've seen a lot of stuff I'd rather not talk about elsewhere on the net.

This board is a true safe haven.
Fun, intelligent people, friendly conversation,
what more can we ask for.

Thanks to Midnight, Dom, & MB for setting this board up, and to them & everyone else for making
it such a friendly place.

Thank's gang for the warm welcome.  You all seem to be a great bunch of people and I really enjoy being part of your board.  There's something about Dark Shadows that brings people together. It was true when I was a kid and after reading this board for a week or so I see that its still true today. When the show first aired about ten of us would race from the bus each day to a TV set and watch the show together.  The next day most of the school would be talking about the show.   My son and I have been watching the show together for a few years now and still look foward to watching it each night. As with Maybellique and Adastra it's become a common interest that has brought the two of us even a little closer.                                Again thank you all for the welcome, Elmont...
