Again, side board pic.
It's EARLY Quentin, when he was (IIRC) haunting first the kids, then the rest of Collinwood.
Boy, Curtis sure got it right with that dude David Selby [snow_huh]
Does anyone know how many eps D. Selby was originally contracted for?
Within soap opera-dom, is it common for a producer to offer an actor 'X' amount of eps, with the option to keep on said soap?
Thanks,
Patti

If David Selby was given a contract at all, it was probably for 13 weeks. A lot of the actors on DS worked without a contract. I don't know how they got away with that. Once it became obvious just how huge a hit Quentin had become with the fans, presumably they did put him under some kind of contract. Towards the end of the series, it was reported in a teen mag that Keith Prentice had been signed for a 5 year contract. I don't know how many actors they did that with. I think Alex Moltke may have been signed for that length of time.

Selby at the time also said, though, that they planned for Quentin to become a speaking role later, so they were planning on doing more with him, but I suppose none of it was definite.

Was she known before DS? A FIVE year contract? If so, how on earth did she get out of it so early? (Can't remember exactly; didn't she leave in early '68?)
