Title: maggie's pad
Post by: michael c on September 26, 2004, 03:43:12 AM
tonight i watched the episode where vicki was taking sanctuary at the evan's cottage...i don't want to "spoil" anything so let's just say she was hiding from you-know-who who was trying to make her have the you-know-what.during all this drama there is a scene in which vicki and maggie sit on the bed and discuss their dreams and boyfriends and whatnot and the whole thing had a girlish,slumber party feel to it.

so what if things worked out differently???what if vicki permanantly moved into maggie's house and "commuted" over to collinwood to care for david?what if maggie and vicki set up a kicky "girl's only" clubhouse?it had that feel.i can see them sprucing-up the place with avacado plants and toss pillows and beanbag chairs.carolyn could "drop-in" to hang with her mini-skirted sisters.they like julia and elizabeth,but really,they are like so "squaresville". ::) ::) ::)

...the things that one thinks about. :-*

Hey, there's a red-hot ball o' fire lurking underneath that tweed, ya know. ;) Anyway - what if Julia came over and gave them some manicure tips? Maybe they could paint each other's toenails... get out a nice bottle of 'porno pink pizzazz' and have a ball!  ;D

Sigh...oh nevermind...it's been a LONG WEEK.   :P ::)

If Vicki stayed around until the 1970s, perhaps Willie could have moved in.  Of course, it would have been strictly platonic, but they'd all have to pretend that Willie was gay.  By that time, Barnabas and Julia would be married, and she would have traded her tweed suits for floral print muu-muus.  Naturally, Barnabas would be suspicious of "the kids," but Julia would think their arrangement to be just fine.

Jean-Claude, darling, put me on the guest list for your next bash.  I adore the hostess--AND her *divine* eyelashes!

I want a loop of Grayson saying the word "divine" in that Leviathans episode I can play on my computer when the minutiae of life grinds away at my last nerve.

Ooh, Vicki and Maggie set up a kinky girls clubhouse!  I dig it!  I always found that scene in that episode very poignant, given what I already knew the first time I watched it as an adult (I think I missed that episode during the original b'cast--I have this memory of being disappointed tuning in the day after and missing the spectral appearance of you-know-who).

I always thought they needed some scenes of the girls just hanging out, spinning 45s on their groovy little portable, burning incense sticks, maybe getting together some of the outasite snacks we used to have back then (anyone remember Whip 'n' Chill?), and razzing on one another's boyfriends ("Can you believe Joe took me out to that dump, the Blue Whale, AGAIN?")  It might have been fun to have them looking at the pin-ups in 16 magazine, too, sighing over Bobby Sherman, Paul Revere, and Sajid.

G.

kinky :o?i said kicky!i also found the scene to be somewhat poignant.it had a "normalcy" to it that harkened back to the show's earlier days(despite vicki's reason for being there).just two girls talking.it re-established the freindship between maggie and vicki.things like this get lost as the show becomes so heavily focused on monsters.i too wish there were more scenes of the girls just hanging out.some of the male characters steal the show's thunder but i like the "girls" best. :-*
