Title: Denise Nickerson at Spooky Empire this weekend

Post by: Josette on November 12, 2015, 10:07:01 PM: I recorded Today when the first one was supposed to be on, but there was nothing, unless it was the fourth hour. Our station puts that fourth hour on in the early hours of the next morning and I didn't get that part. See you mention Kathie Lee and Hoda, that was probably the case the last time, too.

I brought her a goodie bag w/snacks, a signed thank you card from our Central Florida Dark Shadows Fan Club members and some misc fest photos of her I had blown up into 8x10's. She was very sweet and didn't charge for any photos she signed for me. However, I was taken aback by her appearance. She looked quite frail from the last time I saw her (2007 fest in Tarrytown) and she was in a wheelchair. She isn't on the preliminary guest list for the fest and I am afraid she wouldn't be up to attending - but hoping I am wrong.

Post by: Uncle Roger on November 30, 2015, 10:12:49 PM: Thanks for the update, patrickm. Denise has appeared very gaunt in recent pictures but I didn't know about the wheelchair. She hard some incident when she was at Chiller Theatre a few years ago. I never heard the full story, other that it was medically related. She did not appear on the convention floor the day that I was there. We were told that she was in her room resting. Items were brought up to her for her signature.
It would be nice to see her in Tarrytown next summer. I hope that she is up to it.

We had some email correspondence years ago and I bought signed pictures for several family members but have not kept in touch and I wanted to know how to either get in touch with her, or hear news of her. From my experience she was an incredibly sweet, dedicated, conscientious person. Thanks.
