Title: Bunnies
Post by: Luciaphile on March 23, 2002, 05:33:49 AM
Okay, how do I make the cute bunny smiley icons?  I re-checked the place where you hide the emoticons but no bunnies  :'(

Pretty please?

Well, it's not a dsboards smiley, though that "pretty please" might inspire MB to load it. ;)

For now, to get this:

type what's in the box:

Lucia dear,
In addition to the bunny code I e-mailed both you and Minja, here is another bunny I thought the two of you and Midnite would enjoy. :)

All you have to do to produce the bunny below is click the "insert image" icon above and put this url in between the brackets. http://members.aol.com/bobubas/bunny.gif

Bob,

Love your new "Gates of Hell" avatar! You're a man after my own heart. [lghy]

As for adding the bunny smileys to our list, that shouldn't be a problem. I downloaded quite a few new smileys the other day (but I just haven't gotten around to uploading/encoding them yet), so what's a few more? [wink2]

All right, at this point I've got to ask.  I've wondered from the beginning what Midnite's bunny and "I'VE GOT A THEORY! IT COULD BE BUNNIES!!" meant.  But, now that everyone has gone bunny crazy, I'm wondering if I'm missing something.  Is there some significance to all of this that I'm not getting?  ;D ?!? ;D

Yes.

Oh, did you want us to explain?  ::)

Hee hee, thanks, Luciaphil!

Yes, it's from my daughter's favorite song in the Buffy musical.

Nicky and I had a contest at lunch the other day to see who could sing Xander's line in it about witches.  Weird, I know. ;)

(I won.)

It's a vintage cloche hat befitting the origin of my handle.  What did you think it was?  ;)

In reference to the thread on "I Have A Theory, It Could Be bunnies"...I happen to know all the lines to that song from the Buffy Musical and will sing them by request!

[shadow=teal,left,300]Always, Minja[/shadow]
I also know all the words to the Pufnstuf theme song too! Though for some reason no one wants to hear me sing that song. :P

Still confused ?!?  At least it explains why I didn't get it.

I assumed that "Buffy" was a reference to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - but then you mention a song in a Buffy musical - so, I'm lost!  Is there a musical version of  Buffy or is this some other Buffy?!!

Josette, the BuffytVS musical episode.

Thank you!  I think I remember hearing of that.

Anyone care to go into more detail and give the words or explain what it means?

It's going to sound strange, but here goes.  One of the characters on BTVS, Anya (former vengeance demon, which is nasty as it sounds) has a morbid fear of bunnies.

This season there was an episode that was done as a musical and Anya expressed her fear in song, i.e. "It could be bunnies."

You really need to watch the show  8)

(http://members.aol.com/bobubas/bunny.gif) Well Josette...YOU asked for it! HeeHee! ;D

I got a theory, it could be bunnies....
Bunnies aren't as cute as everyone supposes,
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses,
and what's with all the carrots,
what do they need good eyesight for anyway...
Bunnies! Bunnies! It must be Bunnies!

I love singing that song, in case anyone could tell....

Yeah, I know...get a life Minja....yeah, yeah, :P

Oh yes...and Josette, sorry to almost forget...But now is really a good time to start watching Buffy.  It's on probably 6pm your time on the FX channel, and it's the reruns of the previous years so you can catch up.  Also, our good friend, Elizabeth Massie, who co wrote Dreams Of The Dark with Mark Rainey, wrote one of the Buffy books titled Powers Of Persuasion and is a must read.  It is what got me started on Buffy, along with encouragement from Midnite! Also tomorrow night on the UPN channel, is the current run of Buffy which could be kind of confusing until you catch up on the comings and goings of various cast members, etc.  So give the old Buffster a try!  You'll never regret it!  It Rocks!

Thank you, Luiciaphil and Minja!!  It's a shame I can't imagine the tune, but it does sound rather cute!  And it certainly explains a lot here!! 8)

I always thought Buffy would be a show I'd like, but I never got around to watching it, and I generally don't like jumping into things in the middle when I don't really know who's who or what's what!  I have enough television to keep up with as it is, so I've always passed over it. :)

In IE that usually means a broken link to an image (i.e. the image file is no longer stored in the place the link refers to) or that your browser was unable to link to an image for some reason (i.e. because there was too much Internet traffic and the connection timed out). But I'm not quite sure which reply you were referring to because all the images in this topic seem to be displaying now. What was the reply number?

That site in the link in my post is no longer there, but Bob still has the 2 bunny smilies stored in the same place on his webspace.  To get the smiley in his post, you'd type this

The Buffy musical ep, "Once More With Feeling" will re-air on UPN on Tuesday, July 2 at 8/7c...

BTW: in July, Buffy will air twice a week: first, in its usual Tuesday night slot, then another episode will air Wednesdays at 9/8c.

Here to help...

Here's the Buffy schedule for the next 2 weeks:

July 2nd
Once More, With Feeling (the musical)

July 3rd
Life Serial (the nerds make messing with Buffy into a competition...I unapologetically love Warren, by the way)

July 9th
As You Were (the return of Riley Finn)

July 10th
Tabula Rasa (Willow casts a forgetting spell; Giles leaves--again!; a personal season 6 fave)

I know a lot of people have absolutely no love for Riley, but he never really did affect me one way or another...he was okay in "As You Were"; his bride, on the other hand... :P

My personal recommendation re:Buffy is to get seasons 1 and 2 on DVD before trying to catch up on FX (which is currently showing season 3) or just wait for FX to cycle back to the beginning.  This show does the best job with continuity I've ever seen, but it is also the least forgiving of new viewers.  Many of the jokes and references allude to earlier events, and previous developments are never, ever explained again once they've occurred.   Just my 2 cents.   :)
