Ah, July 19--a date that will live in history! On this date 49 years ago, July 19, 1966, the Introduction of Bleedervalve Collins occurred. Television would never be the same again. Episode 17 of DARK SHADOWS had seen the light of day.
Here's to automotive safety--and to DS, forever pushing the frontiers--other series relied on the tried and true mechanics of the "missing spark plug" scenario, but Dan Curtis and Art Wallace went out on a limb and created Bleedervalve... a truly legendary icon in the annals of American series.
cheers,
G.

MB, you crack me up.
I think more importantly was that it was a CHILD attempting patricide, especially in 1966 [ghost_wub]

Roger and David's relationship in general was very un-1966. If I'd seen this in 1966, I might have had some context for my own family problems.

A lot of the Collins family's dynamics were so very un-1966. A would-be patricidal boy--not once but twice!--a man who married his grandmother, yikes!
And the dear old bleeder valve, going where no bleeder valve had gone before. [ghost_cheesy]
