I was wondering how any of us might have felt if our names were suddenly used for characters on Dark Shadows? Gerard, you come to mind. As a kid I would have been thrilled. And I wonder if their being a goody two-shoes or a villain might have mattered?
Anyone have specific memories of this experience?

I always thought it was sort of interesting Alexandra named her son "Adam" fresh on the heels of leaving the show during that period. she was pretty vocal about her dislike of the storyline at the time.
maybe she just liked the name or it had significance to her husband. [ghost_undecided]

My real name was never, ever used on DS. I feel cheated! But I remember, when I was even much younger, watching Romper Room, "Miss Louanne" would use her magic mirror to say the names of kids she saw through it. And when she said my name, I'd get so excited I'd run into the kitchen and jump up and down with glee, saying to my mother: "Momma! Momma! Miss Louanne saw me in her magic mirror! She really did!" Well, there you have it. Barnabas, Julia, et. al., never ever mentioned my real name, but Miss Louanne did, so you tell me who was real?

I think David Selby and his wife named their son Jamison because of Dark Shadows.

I've heard that too, Uncle Roger! DS seems to be a very gracious sort of guy.

Another funny thing to ask everyone, is if they've ever named a beloved pet after a DS character!!
I'd be guilty of that... I had a yellow lab/ beagle mix who we'd named Angelique... But we called her "Angie" for short.
I always thought it'd be funny if Quentin had called Angelique that during one of his flippant retorts.
