Poor Madame Finlay.  I wish she could have stayed around longer.  She's one of my favorite "guest" appearances in DS.  I think she was also in Thoroughly Modern Millie in a completely different kind of role.  She's certainly a very talented actress.

That 'thing' in her hair was so 'in' during the 60s. A bunch of us girls back then went to Sears once to try one on.  I'm pretty sure it was called a 'fall'. I too enjoyed 'Madam's' appearance on the show.

My Aunt used to wear that "thing"
on her head too.  It was also called a fall at J.C. Penneys.
And Madam Finlay was great and to bad they didn't keep her around.

the 1960's were the heyday of artificial hair.the "fall" being among the more popular items.i've often thoght that liz's towering beehive had to be hairpiece assisted.vicki sometimes dons a piece.and maggie has to be the queen of faux locks.just before she's abducted by b. she has shoulder length hair, during her capture it's an elaborate period-do,when she escapes it tumbles to her waist. ::)

The Era of the wig. .i remember my Mom styling hers on a styrofoam head that she'd caricatured with her own makeup.  I read Matt Hall say that Grayson had wigs all over their apartment. . .it was the era . ..

My mom had a fall too.  :D  IIRC, I ended up trying it on (even though it was the wrong hair color--snort) and adding my own artistic touches to the styrafoam head it rested upon. Well, I was a precocious kid...   ;)

i only wish the "fall" would come back in style...but we are now living in another great artificial hair era.the extension!why bother with a dusty old fall when you can have someone else's hair woven right onto your head?i've seen paris hilton in person and she actually has short hair.her "simple-life" locks are all faux. :-*
