according to 'the dark shadow's news page' actress Elizabeth Wilson, who played Hammond Foundling Home directress "Miss Hopewell" during the show's early weeks, has passed away at 94...
RIP Miss Hopewell.

One of those familiar actors you would see so much but usually never knew the name...unless you're my sister who has a mental database of character actors running through her brain.

Will always remember her as Benjamin's mother in "The Graduate." Loved her squeal of delight when her son tells her he's marrying Elaine - that is, till he informs her that he hasn't actually asked Elaine and that she pretty much hates him. Iconic movie moment.

I'd seen her in many things before I ever saw the pre-Barn eps in 1995, but prior to '95 I really had no idea that she had a DS connection. She was a very talented lady.

Today's LA Times obit: Elizabeth Wilson dies at 94; actress often played women of authority (http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-elizabeth-wilson-20150512-story.html) It discusses that iconic scene, described as a "full-throated, prolonged, shriek of glee." I remember it too and it's a hoot!

Last night I finally got around to watching my DVR'd copy of this year's Tony Awards and it was nice to see that Elizabeth Wilson was included in their In Memoriam segment:
