Title: Unique DS Reference
Post by: Mysterious Benefactor on June 21, 2004, 09:42:51 PM
" PHOENIX (AP) -- Firefighters were able to quickly contain a 110-acre fire burning on the Fort Apache Reservation Sunday that forced the evacuation of as many as 1,000 people, a tribal spokeswoman said.

Chadeen Palmer, spokeswoman for the crew fighting the fire, said evacuation orders were lifted by 9 p.m. Sunday for Chinatown, One Step Beyond and Dark Shadows. The three Whiteriver suburbs were evacuated shortly after the fire was reported at about 2:30 p.m."

Suburbs on the Fort Apache Reservation are seemingly named after movies and TV shows, and one of them is named after DS. Who knew?!  :D

Nordstrom's Rep: "How may I assist you today?"

Patti: "I'd like to order a penoir; similar to Victoria Winters'"

Nordstrom's Rep: "How will you be paying?"

Patti: "I'll be using my Nordstrom's charge."

Nordstrom's Rep: "Very good. Where shall I ship this to?"

Patti: "I live One Step Beyond."

Nordstrom's Rep: "I beg your pardon?"

Patti: "One Step Beyond; it's just outside of Dark Shadows"

I went looking for more information about this, and the best I could do is a cached page on Google that appears to be a letter from a 3rd grade class in AZ to another class in Ohio. Because this is a cached version, the photos won't load, but they do offer an explanation of the neighborhood names. They aren't just randomly assigned. They even have an area named for Ben-Gay.  ;D

I wonder if they've named the streets appropriately.
They could have......

Angelique Avenue
Trask Terrace
Quentin Court  (I'm moving there)
Roger Road
Collins Corner
Barnabas Blvd. (you take the Julia jug-handle to get there)
Daphne Drive
Loomis Lane
Stokes Street
