At the library today, I came across a four-pack of old A. Hitchcock movies.
Jamaica Inn with Charles Laughton, sounds good.
Sabotage, which, I don't know if perhaps I've seen a more recent remake??
The 39 Steps Believe it or not, I'm not certain it's the only one I've ever heard of, though, the time period is accurate.
Easy Virtue I believe I've heard that mentioned on this board (the movie, chowder heads, not somebody being floozy!!) lol
I think I'll watch Sabotage first.

Strange, I only recognize the title Sabotage, I know I've seen that, and 39 Steps of course. I borrowed from a friens a big Hitchcock DVD collection that seemed to be everything pre-Hollywood, everything made in England. That's the first half of his career, and Hollywood's the second half. He remade two English ones for Hollywood: The 39 Steps and The Man Who Knew Too Much.
I got a lot out of that set of English films. One was England's first "talkie", and right out of the box, Hitchcock was experimenting with sound. A murderer subjectively mis-hears a conversation he's in, so that every word is unintelligible except the occassional word "knife"!

The description for Easy Virtue sounded good, but, it was a SILENT MOVIE!!
Patti...it was the 39 Steps

As a side note and sidestepping Hitchcock, the actress who played Bathia Mapes was in The Two Mrs. Carrolls...

Regarding Sabotage, there's Sabotage and Sabotuer, both by Hitchcock.
Also, Sabatage is also a movie with Schwarzenhager from 2014, nothing to do with either above.
