I'm looking at the preview and I see the html language showing up. How do you make it go away so that you have bold, italics, the change of color?
It's actually a special YaBB code, though similar to HTML. And like html you have to use them precisely to get them to do their job yet not show up in your posted message.
To get this--
blah blah
Type this--
[b]blah blah[/b]
(Ignore the word "code"; you type only what's within the box.)
To get this--
blah blah
Type this--
[i]blah blah[/i]
To get this:
blah blah
Type this--
[color=Yellow]blah blah[/color]
There must be a corresponding tag at each end of the text (the text is always between the tags; no spacing is necessary) and the one containing the slash is always the second tag in the pair (in other words, it follows the text). Please feel free to experiment on the testing board as much as you'd like. Good luck!

I don't mind working on that with you. And besides, I'm all for giving moms some extra pampering! :) Let's start with colorizing your signature...
You've finished typing a message but before adding your name to the bottom, look above the grey message window for the bar that says "black". Click on the arrow to open the menu, then click on whichever color you want. For demonstration's sake, let's say you chose purple, so these are the 2 tags that will have appeared at the bottom of your message:
[color=Purple][/color]
Of course, it will actually say the color YOU picked. What I want you to do to that code is get your cursor into the spot between the tags, which is in the middle of ][. Next type your name into that space. What you have should now look like this (except it'll give your color choice):
[color=purple]Patti[/color]
Your name will be in color in the posted message, but if it isn't please don't worry cuz I'm going to stick with you.
And if your text gets wacky at any time while you're experimenting, just click reload and it should straighten itself out.

Yay, jennifer! You can ignore the word "code", btw. It's there to keep the tags from disappearing after posting.
Patti's doing a great job with them on the discussion board too. If you see this, sweetheart, I just want to point out the the box with the lined-out S will cross out your words, but to underline use the box with the "U". I hope you don't mind that I fixed it in your message on "Current Talk".

Helloooo!
The codes for the size of your text come from the light colored box with both the black A and arrow. This is what you get when you click on it:
[size=2][/size]
(Please ignore the word code-- it's there as a way to get the code to show up for you.)
Size=2 isn't important because the default for the board is already a size 2, so it won't make any difference. However, if you manually up the number to 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7, the size will increase as shown below. I'm going to use your signature as the text--
To get:
Donna
type this [size=3]Donna[/size]
To get:
Donna
type this [size=4]Donna[/size]
To get:
Donna
type this [size=5]Donna[/size]
To get:
Donna
type this [size=6]Donna[/size]
To get:
Donna
type this [size=7]Donna[/size]

Well Midnite as i went back to read everything carefully
it all started to make sense guess that what happens when you read the directions(Tell my kidsthat all the time LOL)
have been home with a lot of time on my hands so
was able to do it!
