Perhaps the attachment feature is what's causing the problems on this host because this topic seems to take forever to open. Right now I'm not absolutely sure - but something about attachments is definitely very slow...
If topics with attachments (if there even are any others on the forum at the moment) are the only ones that are opening slowly for you, please make an effort to make a post about it here. :)

I've now disabled attachments and this post is opening quickly again. Perhaps we'll have to do without attachments until we switch over to the new system - or possibly even after. :(

Actually, I just tested attachments with the lastest beta version of the new system and attachments seem to work beautifully - no slowdown on the forum at all.
It's still a bit too early to say anything for certain because Midnite, dom, and I will need to do further tests on the system and discuss what we think among ourselves, but if it looks like the new system will be a better fit with this host, we may make the switch to it while it's still in its beta phase. Many of the kinks that were in earlier beta versions have been worked out, though a few problems do still remain...
