Title: OT<Soap Net
Post by: Patti Feinberg on January 15, 2004, 01:44:42 PM
On Sunday, I was scrolling throught the channel outlook (for those who don't have digital, it's likethe concept of tvguide channel, but instead of 3 channels being shown and slooooowly scrolling, you see like 15 at once & you control when you switch, plus you can get a description of every show/every channel).

Anyway, the only 2 shows in my line up in the 90s are CSpan & CMT...but...it says Soap (which is usually my channel 120).

It said OLTL on ch. 96 AND Soapnet on ch. 120. They were both showing Soapnet, but, as of Sunday...I seem to have TWO Soapnets (not different, they show they exact same show/same time), but, has anyone else noticed this?

COME ON DS...LET'S GO TO SOAPNET!!

No Patti,
This has not happened to me.  I did catch some soapnet for a couple of minutes last week and Another World was on it.  I was psched.  It was like visiting an old friend.  I thought of my younger sister, Another World, was her favorite.

Birdie--today is housework day and I have managed to put it off as long as I can.  Also baking cookies--isn't it a rule that you have to eat the ones that break taking them off the cookie sheet.

Can anyone here actually CONFIRM that SoapNet and DC Productions are ACTUALLY in negotiations for this, or have we all taken a frequently quoted rumor and run like hell with it?

I've asked that specific question on SoapNet's site but they don't answer questions like that, it seems.  ???

Rainey...I tried to 'contact' Soapnet.com, I didn't see anywhere to e-mail or post a question.

(I couldn't log in, every imaginable name was 'already taken'.)

On a related topic, if there's ever news about SoapNet airing the 1982-83 episodes of OLTL on which Grayson appeared, I would appreciate knowing about it (and discussing arrangeing to get copies of tapes!!).

Good luck everybody--hope DS has a good prospect of finding a new home on SoapNet.  It does need a home on current broadcast television.

This is on the Festival's web site, (http://www.darkshadowsfestival.com) though not under the current news where one might expect to find it.

If you click on the link for Today's Trivia, you'll find it mentioned there.

Stuart`s UK DS site, a very reliable source, confirms that Soapnet is looking at DS as a possible show to air.
Go to Collinwood.net
for more details.

Soapnet is already airing reruns of vampire soap #2, Port Charles.

Sorry for the confusion. It was on the Festival site when I posted the link, and Stuart indicates the Festival has his source for this news item on the DS Journal site. (http://www.collinwood.net) The Fest site has been changed overnight. :)

At any rate, if you're wanting to see it from an official source (though I've yet to see the DS Journal post anything that wasn't accurate), it appears in the SG e-mail update that was sent out overnight, which I'm sure will make its way to the forum today. :)

The latest ShadowGram confirms it.

Thanks, Julia99.

I just wish it confirmed more than the fact that they're "in negotiations".  In this particular industry, being "in negotiations" could mean anything from:

'The deal is done, the paperwork is signed, we're just waiting for all the PR people to decide how the announcement should be worded"........   :D

all the way down to..........

"Uh, I think one of the secretaries is on hold with Dan Curtis' housekeeper"........... :-

You're right.   It could mean anything, except i read some time ago from a SoapNet exec that they really "wanted" DS. . .so that makes me a bit, uhhmm..hopeful?

....but....has anyone who has Soapnet noticed if for whatever reason, they now have it on two channels?

(I still do, again, it's same programming, though listed differently, and tv guide channel does not list the newer one.)

In this mos. cable bill, there was an insert, and I read it.

They have 3 listings: limited, basic & digital.

They do list two seperate Soap Channels!!

So, for some of you who don't currently have Soapnet, I'm sure it's coming soon.

(Now let's just hope DS will be broadcast!!)
