Title: Denise Nickerson coming up
Post by: Josette on January 10, 2004, 04:25:58 AM
Once again, Patrick on the SciFi Board has informed of an upcoming TV appearance:

"For those who might be interested, Denise Nickerson's
episode of The Brady Bunch entitled Two Petes in a Pod
will air on TV Land on Sunday Jan 11 at 3pm EST and
repeated on Mon Jan 12 at 8:30am EST."
Title: AMY JENNINGS ON THE BRADY BUNCH
Post by: Sandor on January 13, 2004, 12:01:26 AM
Just caught young Denise Nickerson (circa 1974) on an old episode of "The Brady Bunch" - and in the spirit of "Fashions By Ohrbach's", the producers had her dressed in a hideous polka dot jump suit (actually a snug tunic with matching slacks), with white Peter Pan collars and strawberry decals! They featured her awkwardly dancing in the Brady family room with Peter (Brady, not Bradford), prompting me to cry out, "Put on 'Quentin's Theme.' She can dance to that one!"
It took me years to realize it was DS' Amy on that  Brady Bunch show. Was it the glasses? The puberty? The lack of handsome brother Chris? Anyone else familiar with the episode?

At the 2001 Fest, Denise talked about filming that episode.  She remarked that the six Brady kids were very cliquish and unfriendly.

I'm sure that there is a transcript of her Q&A session floating around somewhere in cyberspace.  Perhaps someone could provide a link?  :-*

Regards,

John

Thanks for the info, John.  A curse on those untalented Brady Kids for dissing Denise - they were probably intimidated by her Collinwood/Willie Wonka connections, and her superior acting ability.
Found the Brady episode hysterical, particularly when the parents walked into the family room to introduce themselves to Denise's character, but she just kept on dancing with Peter, not missing a beat.

I also remember watching Denise as a member of the "Short Circus" on THE ELECTRIC COMPANY.  I didn't know of her DS connection back then, but I remember that I loved her voice and her looks.  Seeing these shows now, I'm surprised that she didn't become a major television star in the 1970s.
