[spoiler]Perhaps because i already know whose Melanie's parents are. . it seems so obvious even Josette's first screen appearance. . blonde hair, overly concerned about the girl. . .I know some folks at this point usually think Julia might be Melanie's Mother but I don't think Grayson is showing any motherly feeling toward the girl, just 'aunty' concern. .and Grayson could turn it on, at times RTJulia was very maternal to Amy and/or David. . so Grayson is intentionally not adding this nuance. . .whereas. . . I think in this case, the writers and cast knew upfront who it was gonna be--and are working with that knowledge? Other thoughts?[/spoiler]
