OMG! And I mean that literally! I have The Waltons on in the background and it's the episode where John Karlen plays an ultra-zealot visiting Baptist minister where every little thing to him is a horrible example of sin and back-sliding. He tears the local Baptist church and much of the community, including the Walton family, apart. I totally forgot about this episode. Now, all you sinners, get out of those roadhouses, especially that den of iniquity, the Dew Drop Inn!

That is cool to hear about, Gerard. It sounds like a chance to sample what we might have seen had Karlen been cast in the Trask role. (I think he was either doing Death of a Salesman during the 1795 storyline, or out on the West Coast.)

Now that would've been interesting to see John Karlen cast as the Reverend Trask in 1795/96 - what a difference from playing Willie. He certainly would've been able to pull it off, being one of the most versatile actors on DS; each character was different, complete and intact. Even his Willie Loomis vs. William H. Loomis was night and day. And on The Waltons episode, his characterization of the fanatical minister would've given Jerry Lacy's personification a run for his money.
By the way, I'm also without sin. I've used them all up!
