What's cool about living in NE, this a.m. on local news, the weather guy was in Sleepy Hollow. Was anyone else's feature/or weather reporter in Sleepy Hollow or perhaps Salem?

Tonite I go to the beautiful old Paramount Theatre in Oakland CA to see Bride of Frankenstein(1935) & Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein(1948)
With all the year round fog here, the Bay Area is definitely the West Coast's Gothic capitol!

Got the crepe-paper spiderweb covering the front porch, lit by blacklight; jack-o'-lanterns perched in the trees around the house (this looks goddam eerie!); candles all over the inside; and the Dark Shadows 30th Anniversary CD playing so it can be heard by anyone coming up to the house... Yah, it's Halloween here. ;)
We had a big Halloween party-type thing at the office today, and I read my story, "Angels of the Mist," from 100 Creepy Creature Stories, to a SRO crowd. I was surprised so many showed up. A couple left when the baby got et, but hey... that's the way it goes in the land where horror dwells. It seemed to go over quite well, though, so I may actually still have a job when I go back on Monday.

The festivities are over. Tons of candy has been eaten. One child went to Salem today with the drama club. Another goes to school there and I am sure was in the crowds of many ghouls and gobblins roaming the streets. I did my celebrating with a beer by the neighbors bon-fire.

This is v-e-r-y OT, but since we already have the baby picture here, I couldn't resist.
Every day I get a joke, and often it is a story sent in by someone. Many have a ring of truth to them, and this is one. I assume it's a true story as opposed to a "joke." Anyway, I found it so adorable.
It was one of the worst days of my life: The washing machine broke down, the telephone kept ringing, my head ached, and the mail carrier brought a bill I had no money to pay. Almost to the breaking point, I lifted my one-year-old into his high chair, leaned my head against the tray, and began to cry.
Without a word, my son took his pacifier out of his mouth and stuck it in mine.
