And another great one. I don't think I've ever come across such an intimate shot of Grayson with Matthew. In fact, I don't know if I even have a photo of Grayson and Matthew from his childhood.

The legends on the back of the photo reads:

Actress Grayson Hall bids farewell to her 5-year old son Matthew at Idlewood Airport [JFK] before embarking for Mexico City where she will play a feataured role in the Seven Arts production of "The Night of the Iguana" co-staring Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr.  It will be the first time Miss Hall has been separated from Matthew and her first trip outside the USA.  She was featured on Broadway in Subways Are For Sleeping & The Balcony.  She will portray the frenetic schoolteacher group leader of a busload of tourists in her new assignment."

The Balcony was not "on broadway" but i quibble. . .Also, resident GH expert, Gothick believes Matthew and Sam **went** to Mexico with Grayson. . on the infamous recorded interview in her apartment in 1972 (?) she told how her pediatrian said, "take the dog but not the baby!" [to Mexico].

Wow, these are just lovely pictures, Julia99.  Grayson looks great!  And what a nice photo of her and her son.

Thanks for these truly fabulous shots, dear.  I absolutely adore the closeup of Grayson with Matt.  I hope he gets to see it--perhaps you should send him a copy.

Matt and Sam joined Grayson in Mexico at some point during the Iguana shoot.  I'm not sure just how long they were down there.  Matt was kindergarten age that year (he's the same age as me--we were born 3 weeks apart--my Mom and Grayson were carrying babies at the same time, which kind of freaks me out).

It was during this time in Mexico that Matt and Liza Todd, Elizabeth Taylor's daughter, became friends, and they continued to visit with one another over the years.  Liza's wedding happened at Grayson and Sam's home, and Elizabeth had to soothe the tempers of the local police who were dragooned into serving bodyguard duty.

Here is Grayson in her NYC apt. posing for a photo with Matt and some of his friends. I will do a better scan the next time I have access to a scanner.
