I think today's eps (Fri, 9/12) were very good.

But, I haven't watched recently; am I to understand:
[spoiler]has Maggie been bitten by a vampire? I really didn't remember this. I'm guessing, is it ??Sebastian?? in the hooded thing?[/spoiler]

Very good performances and direction AND camera, lighting, etc. today.

Maggie has indeed come under the sway of a vampire.  This part of the story is one I really enjoy, I actually wish it could have been played out more.  Whose under the hood?  Looking forward to next week!

We're on the verge of finding out the vampire's identity - so no use giving you a spoiler now!!  She's been attacked several times at this point and every night there's a big struggle as the dogs howl endlessly and Maggie tries to leave.  The other day the vampire caused Julia to fall asleep and appeared in the room (a dark silhouette), but Quentin arrived just in time.
