Post by: joe integlia on July 17, 2003, 10:25:03 PM
Im starting to sell my vhs mpi tapes. the 1st one (volume#9) is listed on ebay as item #3337551584. my tapes have an added bonus! in between each episode i inserted a graphic that indicates the original episode#, the original airdate and the syndicated episode # that worldvision used in the mid 70s when they 1st reran the show from barnabas' arrival.

Out of curiosity, if these are the commercially produced tapes (since you said MPI, presumably they are), I can't imagine how you are able to insert anything in them.  :)

Checking out Joe's e-mail address might give you a clue. [wink2]

Not really! :)  I would assume that a commercially produced product is tamper-proof, or at least done so that even the most expert person presumably couldn't "mess it up."

I'm sure Joe will explain exactly what he did when he has the chance, but if he did what I suspect he's done, no tape is that tamper-proof. ;)

Just for the record, though, the MPI DS videos aren't copy protected. I've always thought it was odd that anyone can make as many copies of them as they so choose and the copies will be practically as good as the originals (depending on the quality of your VCR(s), of course).

i am not selling a copy. the graphics were inserted into the mpi tape during the few seconds where the credits end and the next episode begins, this can be done with an industrial(high end)vcr that offers video insert editing. insert editing can be done without any break up in the picture or sound like u would get if u tried this with a standard vcr.
