Truthfully......I think the show should never have been broadcast in color. I know that at the time color TV was a fairly new and exciting concept......but I honestly think DS gained something from being in black and white.....it had more atmosphere, more menace, literally, more dark shadows. Watching a kinescope is annoying....but seeing it in black and white was a treat.
But then, I think colorizing old black and white films should be a Capital offense.

I didn't get a color TV until the mid-1970s so until the episodes reappeared on SciFi I never saw it in color. I absolutely agree that there is a lot more "spookiness" in the atmosphere when the episode is b/w. I understand why fans like the episodes in color, the costumes, etc. but it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of the show when it ran on ABC.
I was surprised but impressed with directors who chose to film in b/w over color, like Paper Moon, Raging Bull & The Longest Day.

Is that what he was doing?
I actually thought Barn had grabbed the cross from William and was stabbing him with it....
For 1970, the quality of the film seems poor.
Oh Kitten...sweet Kitten.....let's run away & I'll lavish the things you should be used to ;D
