March 18 obituary for Charlotte Fairchild, who appeared once on DS as Millicent's maid (delivering a fan to her) in 1796, from The Plain Dealer:  http://obits.cleveland.com/obituaries/cleveland/obituary.aspx?n=CHARLOTTE-FAIRCHILD&pid=163709646#fbLoggedOut

Millicent had a maid?  Golly.  I missed that one completely.

Thanks to Kosmo for providing the link and the information, and my admiration for his discernment when it comes to really obscure, briefly appearing actors just went up several notches....

I certainly hadn't remembered that detail, either. And I don't recall Charlotte Fairchild being mentioned on this forum ever before. Is she listed in any of the DS Almanacs or other resources?

I found my copy of "Barnabas & Company" by Craig Hamrick, revised by R. Jamison, when I got home last night but didn't have time to look for Ms. Fairchild yet.  [easter_azn]

Description and screen cap of Charlotte Fairchild's character in RobinV's summary of ep #443:

We actually saw a servant on today's show--the maid who delivered the fan to Millicent and who thought it was from a secret admirer. Millicent says she doesn't use fans--they make drafts, and besides, the mother of pearl fan makes her think of pearls, and oysters, and the latter make her sick. She has no admirers, only common women do. Millicent seems even more flaky than last time we saw her.

The fan
was delivered by Noah (who also stole it), all part of Nathan's plot to win Millicent's hand while framing Barnabas as the Collinsport Strangler.
Thanks, Midnite!  I'm sure I only ever saw that episode once, and it was well over ten years ago.

Love Charlotte's costume, and her cute cap.  Too bad she didn't show up again in later episodes.  I would have loved a little servants' gossip at Collinwood...

I got all confused.  For some reason, while reading, I thought it had said "Suki's" maid rather than Millicent's maid.  Don't ask my how I got that all messed up (but then again, I'm one of those who now has to put things he needs to take when he heads out of the house on the floor by the door so I don't forget them, so it's understandable).  So I thought to myself, "I don't remember Suki having a maid and, besides, if she was hurting for cash, how could she afford one?"  Then I saw it was Millicent along with the screen capture and, believe it or not, I fully remembered the scene.

I remember that scene now that I see the screencap ...  It was Barnabas who sent her the fan with the message scrawled inside, wasn't it? Somehow that handwriting doesn't look like what I imagine for Barnabas's though.

Hi Philippe,
No, it was a trap set by Nathan and the Craig Slocum character--for some reason I can't remember his name--a plot to further unhinge Millicent, AND expose Barnabas as the Collinsport Strangler--at least, that is how I remember it... it has been a very long time since I saw this particular episode...
Aha! I knew that didn't look like Barnabas' handwriting ...  [easter_wink]
