Title: Recent Lisa Richards Photo
Post by: MsCriseyde on June 16, 2003, 05:55:28 AM
For those who don't know, Lisa Richards (aka Sabrina) has been quite active on the stage since her DS days. Her most recent role was at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre in Cape Cod in The Unexpected Man alongside Paul Benedict, whom you may remember as the neighbor on The Jeffersons.

Here's a link to a review that includes a photo:

Thanks so much for posting this. I only wish I'd known about it sooner because I might have tried to go to see her. But then, that's what happens when you're chained to your computer down in the dungeon. ;)

I just stumbled across it by accident, and it really had to do with an argument over whether or not Paul Benedict, whom I remember most vividly as "The Number Painter" from Sesame Street, is alive or dead.

I win. ;)

What else has she done (say in last 5 years)?

This is really vague, but, at any rate. I know she was Goneril in a production of King Lear in Pittsburgh within the last couple of years. Before the play mentioned in the article, she was at Arkansas Rep for the premiere of Friends Like These, and here's a link to details and photos. (http://216.239.53.100/search?q=cache:aIfcoMtTfQkJ:www.therep.org/newsletter1.htm+%22lisa+richards%22+arkansas+repertory&hl=en&ie=UTF-8) She also did a production of Death of a Salesman at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas and costarred with the actor who plays the father on The Waltons, Ralph Waite.

She also played Ethel Dean in the a TNT movie about James Dean.

And she was an understudy for the recent Broadway production of Our Town that got a lot of press because Paul Newman played the stage manager. That production actually began in Westport, CT.

Thanks for posting the information on Lisa Richards, Ms Crisyde.  I had just been wondering about her  ... I don't remember hearing anything about her post-DS.  Wonder if she ever had an interest in attending any of the DS festivals?

She's attended several LA Fests, Vlad. I don't think she's been to one in NY, though.

I don't know much about her movie credits, Patti. I'd consult the IMDb for that. And, on the 1966 for Dark Shadows, I think the IMDb pretty consistently lists the beginning year for a series next to it, even if the actor appeared in the 5th season or whatever, but I may be wrong.

On Lisa Richards and the Fests, there were photos of her on the web for some West Coast DS event at some point, but I can't remember now what it was.

She is listed on the DS Fest web site for this year's event, but, as you can tell, she stays busy with theatre stuff, so a professional commitment could very well change that.  :-

If you can stand photos from my first scanner, these were taken at a '98 event in West Hollywood to help launch Lara Parker's new book:

Lisa Richards also has a starring role in this funny little picture called Eating by Henry Jaglom.

It's about women and food and is not bad. A little self-absorbed but hey. It's sort of a pseudo-documentary because all the women play actresses, mirroring their real lives.

I'm thinking it's about 10 years old and it also stars Mary Crosby. Yep, the one who shot J.R.
