Where the f**k is John Karlen???? Has Jim Pearson spirited him away somewhere? I know he moved. I don't have a number for him anymore. Where is he????

indeed karlen's complete absence from all DS related activities in recent years is cause for concern...


i forget did he issue any statement when frid passed away earlier in the year? one would think he would have given the nature of their working relationship.

and given his predilection for spouting off has he had nothing to say in regards to the film? suspicious.


one can only hope he's o.k.

Maybe he just wants to be left alone. Maybe he's grown tired of participating in the DS festivals and some such. He might have simply decided to retire and do it quietly.

Which is his right. However I too hope he's doing well.

Candid photos of both Karlen and Jerry Lacy dated April 2012 were posted last night on another fan site.  Karlen looked pretty good for almost-80.

I personally am not assuming anything about Karlen's interest in meeting fans or talking about his DS memories based on the fact that he hasn't been to the recent "Festival" events.
